Thank you, thank you, my blog friends for your encouragement yesterday! After a rough morning, the day had a decent afternoon/evening. Due in no small part to checking the computer a few times and finding notes from you. Thanks.
Well, we still have no water, but that should be back by this afternoon (cross your fingers please!). Luckily, I have a big Costco box of baby wipes in every room, so we're not too filthy. I did get a shower last night at a neighbor's, and I'm really hoping I get to shower in my own bathroom today before heading to my SIL's baby shower. I have curly hair. It doesn't do well with skipping showers. It has to reset, kind of. Some of you will understand this.
I didn't find my embroidery floss, but I borrowed some from a neighbor (thanks, Lisa!) and Princess got her project finished in time (for the shower). I had to help her with finishing it and man, it felt good to get a teeny bit of crafting in! I'll show you the gifts next time.
I had to carry a big bucket to another neighbor to get some water (to flush toilets). Carrying a bucket of water through a snowstorm - I felt a little like Laura Ingalls! :) It makes me realize how much we take for granted. Running water....
The bad news: The plumbing job.... oh, boy. There were permits to get, guys had to come mark gas lines and such, and there is a bobcat sitting in our driveway waiting for the plumbers this morning. Aaron made a guess at how much it would cost - a shuddering kind of amount. It's actually more than three times that much. Doh!
I'm coming down with the boys' colds (which are getting worse) - so I'll be popping zinc today.
I picked a really bad time to try Monkey in cloth diapers.
I'm hoping I have something to wear to the shower - since I can't do laundry.
Making me happy:
Thomas has calmed down quite a bit. He's been pretty 'off' sensory-wise for a week. We're not the only ones dealing with this, either.
Princess made these cotton-ball clouds (idea from a flickr picture of Blair's). See, flickr is educational! :)
I love the sparkly blue pen!
We've been having a lot of Stratus clouds, lately. Snow, and more snow coming (sorry to all you snowless people - I'd share if I could! :)
**update - it's 2:00 on Friday - WE HAVE WATER. WOO HOO!
