Like my tags, these magnets are fun, fast, and addictive (and involve cutting up vintage children's books). I made a bunch to give to my MIL and SILs for Thanksgiving.
These are made from a thrifted Mother Goose book:
(I especially like the 'Shoes' series).
These are Richard Scarry:
This is one of those projects where I go through all my supplies quickly, and then start looking for more - like "I don't really like those ones on my fridge as much as these - I'll go redo them!"
Ahhhh, crafting....
Speaking of, did anyone else watch Martha today? I don't normally catch it (timing + I prefer her old show format) but she (and Sarah McLaughlan) made these super cute rosettes out of ric rac. So cute. I gave it a quick attempt - but it's definitely harder than it looks - although Sarah seemed to have a hard time as well! I just can't get the edges to all go the same way... bummer. I was thinking I could do a garland - like the yo-yo ones that are popping up - but with ric rac rosettes - with buttons in the center (because let's face it - yo-yo's aren't going to happen for me).
Hmm...that does sound nice, maybe it deserves a second attempt?
