What a weird week! It's busy, yet quiet... The girl gets home from her camp today, and the redhead and his dad are gone at theirs. Monkey had his camp last weekend. Lots on the calendar, but less people home! Yesterday Monkey and I had a very nice quiet day to ourselves.
It was kinda weird.
I finally mopped.
This year's girls' camp theme was Dr. Seuss. Every tent had a different book theme. We weren't very familiar with The Sneetches! I always send a little something for camp decorations, but his wasn't my best year. Our printer ran out of toner right when I was going to do this, so I had to draw a little sign.
I 'laminated' it with packing tape, and included two skewers, one with masking tape wrapped around the end. So she can tape the sign to the skewers, then stick it in the ground. I also cut out wonky stars and sewed them together. A garland for the tent or trees.
Her 'secret sister' gifts are supposed to be small little things. The girl wanted to do a lollipop bouquet (Seuss trees?), and we added a one fish, two fish, red fish, blue red fish tag to a pack of swedish fish. She crocheted a couple of bracelets, one is just three strands of single chain, and one is single chain made of a strip of tshirt knit. She stuck those in a plastic easter egg with a Horton tag since her secret sister was in the Horton Hatches an Egg tent. Add some glo bracelets and she was good to go.
I drew a big green star on her lunchbag to send her off to camp, and the redhead requested a decorated bag for his own camps. I didn't get a photo of the Tardis I drew yesterday, but today he was thrilled with Lord Business.
Photo taken before the cape was added.
I have been planning (and overthinking) for the girl's school lunches this year, and bought a lunchbox for her this week. I have to say, though, I could get into decorating paper bags...
