So is everyone watching the Food Revolution? We are watching it and find it totally interesting. So much to think about. The next episode is on tonight, so check it out (we've watched on Hulu).
I had my daughter watch both episodes the other day - even more interesting to see her reaction to it!
As a homeschooled kid, she thought the school lunches looked disgusting - but "That's not what they're all like, right?"
Um, yeah, that's pretty much how they all are.
"Ew!"
Also, she could NOT believe the results of the chicken nugget experiment.
Interestingly, she was also offended by the potato chip commercials that aired during it on Hulu. "This show is supposed to get you to eat healthy foods!"
Good point, babe.
We do pretty well cooking with fresh ingredients. Real foods. In fact, watching this show, I'd say we do way good. But there's always room for improvement. This week we've emphasized 'Try something new' with surprising success, and we're hoping to get all of the kids helping in the garden more this summer. We say that every year, but so far Thomas tends to hinder more than help. Maybe this year...
Anyway, check it out and eat your vegetables!
Here's our April nature table - much like March so far, but look closer...
"April, April, the snow is gone?"
Not here! The backyard, where the boys were playing without jackets (or shoes) on Monday looked like this yesterday:
Usually spring snow doesn't stick much and melts very fast - but we probably got about 6 inches yesterday!
So our April 1st looked like this:
Now I'm off to run some Easter errands. I'll be back soon - I finished some Easter sewing projects! Woo hoo!
