Doing School
Some more 'Colonial' type activities for history: making butter.
(It seemed to take a while to get past the whipped cream stage - and it's still really soft - but lovely on toast).

Yesterday Princess decided to try rolling a hoop with a stick.

Fun times!
Yes, butter does take a long time. I agree.

My kids love making butter. The kids at their pre-school always prepare a huge Thanksgiving feast for all the parents to come and sample. Butter making is one of the favorite preparations. Shaking, rolling, dancing with the jar in hand. Good times.

Oh I loved doing this type of stuff back in school. We also made cornhusk dolls, wrote with a quill and um... drank some kind of raspberry herbal tea and some kind of spice cookie. :)

I've never made butter. I think we should put this on our to-do list for when Fidge gets older. (Stick and hoop! That's difficult!)
