**Is it just me or is bloglines being SUPER slow today? This post was published at about 1am Thursday!
It still hasn't been picked up! Finally. Grr.**
This year new stockings were needed. Or at least wanted.
I cut them so that the bottom of the sweater was the top of the stocking- again, I'm all about not hemming. The red sweater was a roll-hem one, so that makes an interesting top, I think!
Mine is the green one, but I added pink for good measure...
On most of them I was also able to cut from the sides, so that one side of the stocking was already sewn together.
The pink striped sweater is lambswool and was already felted! Someone made a laundry mistake - but I'm loving my new pink striped felt! Perhaps some of it will become a brooch? The other sweaters are cotton, so not felted - but worked fine.
The stripes + the heart is a little too Valentine's day, and the T slanted the wrong way is driving me crazy - but I doubt I'll fix it!
They are all different sizes and shapes, which I love, but I like that there's enough similarity that they go together.
Here they are on the mantle - hung with the pom-pom garland that Princess and I made (log cabin wreath quilt by my MIL).
And someone came over and asked if I'd knitted the stockings!
