Okay, sorry about the password confusion! Hopefully this will clear it up.
Princess has a blog. She has been asking me for a while if she could start her own. I finally upgraded my Typepad account so that I can have more than one weblog. Hers is password protected - just for our family - sorry! It's only been up for about 2 weeks, and it's already my favorite blog. It's hilarious. Here's a favorite entry:
(MY SEVENTH BIRTHDAY PARTY)
This year im going to be seven. But i have 2 problems. 1.Idon't know what
kind of party to have.
2. I dont know what decorations to use. What am i going to do?????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You must help me decide.
The cool thing is being able to share whatever she wants with extended family. Her cousin (7yo) even commented with her opinions on purple and pink balloons.
(my comment to her included the fact that her birthday's not until JUNE!)
She types her posts all by herself. I just help her with pictures, if she wants any. Usually I don't read them until she publishes an entry. The family is getting some chuckles from it and she loves checking to see if anyone commented!
So, anyway, not trying to be a show-off mom, but she amazes me constantly and I had to share this one post with you. My brother, Karl, asked her to write a story on her blog, so she did. I helped her fix the spelling of 'chocolate' and I think one other word, and reminded her to capitalize the proper nouns. Otherwise, this is all her. (Also, please note that the real-life Karl is a vegetarian).
I love comparing the writing with the illustrations. And I think you can tell that she reads a lot of Shannon Hale and Gail Carson Levine (with a little pinch of Snow White for good measure!):
Once upon a time, there was a young man named Karl. One day he was reading a book, and when Karl came to a picture of a castle, he went into the book! And thats when all his adventures started.
When his head stopped spinning he found he was in a fairyland. He walked on a path for an hour, and when he stopped walking he found he was in a castle courtyard! He walked backward to get a better look, and bumped into a princess. They spun around at the same moment. Karls mouth almost fell open in wonder. The princess was lovely! She had golden-brown hair, sky blue eyes, lips as red as roses, and skin as white as snow, and a shining gold tiara. Her gown was green as grass, with a orange sash on her waist, and yellow shoes.
Her mother, Celia was in the castle embroidering a rose. She looked out the window and saw Elina and Karl staring at each other. She could tell it was love at first sight and told the king, David. The king was overjoyed to hear the news and ordered a big feast be made ready. When the feast was ready, and Karl and Elina sitting at the table, it was time for the king and queen to sit down. Karls stomach growled . There are so many things to eat! Karl thought. And true, there was. There was roast pheasant, roast swan, roast beef, roast turkey, tomato soup, wip, wine, and what Karl thought a million deserts. there was strawberry cake, chocolate cake, pumpkin pie, chocolate pie, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate ice cream. (these are just some of them) His mouth watered when a servant put some of everything on his plate.
After the feast Elina took him to his room. What she had been holding in since she had met him exploded. She told him how much she loved him. And he told her the same thing. So Elina told her lady-in-waiting who told David who told Celia who arranged the wedding.
The wedding was a huge success. Both bride and groom were happy. So Karl got Elina and half the kingdom. And they all lived happily ever after.
